Our Portuguese Partner TecnoConverting recently took part in the tender of one of the companies of Aguas de Portugal Group, which manages the wastewater in this country, with the aim of carrying out a study to replace the existing activated carbon in four of its pumping stations. The objective was to find a filtering media with better performance and greater capacity than they were using, in order to reduce service downtime.

TecnoConverting proposed the Bi-On® CARB OX media, due to its high capacity of H2S adsorption, its high load capacity, as well as the simple conditions of elimination and treatment after its use, since it is a non-toxic product that can be disposed of without specific requirements.

TecnoConverting studied the operating conditions of each vessel, the flow, the media and made the service life calculations with different amounts of filtration media, 100%, 80% and 30% of the original load. Finally, they chose to fill  80% of the initial load, which will be enough to allow the client to increase the service life.

Finally, after analyzing technical information of other impregnated products in the market, the client decided to adopt the solution proposed by TecnoConverting with Bi-On® CARB OX media, for its high performance and improved operational costs.

The extensive experience of Bioconservacion and TecnoConverting in the filtration of air in Wastewater Treatment Plants -WWTPs- allows us to offer customized solutions for odour control, corrosion control and removal of pollutants in the generated biogas.
